I will confess- I'm a third generation restaurateur.

My life revolves around the kitchen - it always has

I began designing kitchens and stretching the parameters of the traditional triangle back in high school with a pad of graph paper in drafting class. In  the 70's I reconfigured the existing cooking prep station and won the McDonald's Grill Team Award. In the 80's & 90's I designed as owner/operator, a series of Cafe's and restaurants in Boston and in the Caribbean.

Observing the chef while in action preparing the meal is key in the "Open" design. Evolving from this style is the need to have maximum efficiency to the kitchen: storage-prep-cook-clean- back to storage of leftovers and recyclables.

Realizing I enjoyed designing and opening kitchens disguised as cafe's- I hung up my apron ten years ago and side stepped into residential kitchen design.
